Snowmelt System

The Board of Light & Power is trying to determine its responsibility level with Grand Haven’s downtown snowmelt system.

Emotions boiled over during discussions Friday about the future of Grand Haven’s snowmelt system during a special work session of the Board of Light & Power.

BLP General Manager Dave Walters moderated the meeting; the purpose of which was to determine whether or not the downtown snowmelt system should be considered an electric facility – and, if so, how to pay for it.
