Watching Rudy Giuliani dance with disgrace as the loser president’s lawyer pressing claims of fraud in the 2020 election, I thought of a fictional attorney played by Paul Newman in the 1982 film, “The Verdict.”

Newman received a well-deserved Oscar nomination for his role as Frank Galvin, an alcoholic attorney. Galvin sobers up just enough to represent the plaintiff in a medical malpractice case. The facts are on his side, but the rules of evidence work against him. Feeling his case hopeless, Galvin makes an emotional plea to the jury.

If you voted for Joe Biden congratulations, your candidate won...mine did not but I won’t spend the next 4 years complaining, lying and undermining the President. It is pathetic that even in victory people like Lanivan and Rodrick can’t be gracious and happy. It really speaks volumes as to who they are.

Dan Rodricks is correct - Donald Trump and Rudy Guiliani's shenanigans are a national disgrace.....besides their disgusting and shameful attempts to undermine democratic free and fair elections by submitting lawsuit after lawsuit claiming voter fraud when there is literally no evidence of fraud and having these lawsuits thrown out, one by one - 36 total summarily rejected by appalled judges (some appointed by Trump himself) - there is still another deplorable factor in this insanity. Trump has used this trope of "rigged elections" and his daily lawsuit submissions to solicit donations from his fan base who actually believe this grifter and his grifting "legal counsel" (the really smart lawyers backed out when they realized the con taking place)!

You can bet if a Republican wrote his/her opinion, it would never be approved for the paper. Fair and unbiased news and opinions are a thing of the past.

Good point. Most Republican-written opinions these days wouldn't be approved by most fair and fact-based media. One example is of all the mis/disinformation and dissembling on Trump's Twitter account and right-wing Facebook pages that is removed daily for not meeting standards.

Apparently you've forgotten already about the Republican witch hunt of Bill and Hillary Clinton (Whitewater/Benghazi), spanning a total of 10+ years, and costing over $100 million of taxpayer money, concluding there was no evidence of any federal or criminal violations. Nada. Compare to the 3 year Mueller investigation, costing around $32 million, with (34) people charges, including (4) Trump campaign associates and (3) Russian companies, with several prison sentences and hundreds of thousands in fines. And while we're talking about waste of taxpayer money, let's not forget Trump's total of about (1) year out of (4) years in the White House spent at his resorts golfing to the tune of an estimated $144 million....of taxpayer money.
