People who follow politics are familiar with the scenario. When a Republican “wave” appears likely, or a Republican presidential candidate develops a significant lead over the Democrat candidate, the media begin reporting “stories” that the wave is receding, and the Democrat is gaining ground.

Television networks prefer close races because it adds to ratings. For once influential newspapers, it used to help sales.

So, Cal, you believe, and are attempting to make us believe, that honest, hard-working American citizens don't understand that this current inflationary period is a by-product of the worst global pandemic in 100 years, and that global supply issues are a huge part of the problem?

Or that President Biden is working full-out to bring back manufacturing back to the US and that will bring back thousands of new jobs? "Today’s announcement by Micron is another big win for America. Just this week, we’ve seen First Solar, Toyota, Honda, and Corning make major announcements of new investments and new jobs as a direct result of my economic plan. In our future, we will make EVs, chips, fiber optics, and other critical components here in America, and we will have an economy built from the bottom up and middle out." Biden, 7 days ago.

Let's look at the facts about the US economy under President Biden's leadership: "Under President Biden, the United States has added 9 million jobs—the highest number of jobs added in any president’s first 17 months. Not only is the unemployment rate at a historic low of 3.6 percent, but more Americans are now employed in the private sector than at any time during the previous administration. As a result, the number of Americans making initial claims for unemployment benefits is the lowest it has been in more than half a century, and long-term unemployment saw its fastest decline on record in the 12 months following enactment of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)."

The winning for the Middle Class continues! "The Inflation Reduction Act lowers prescription drug costs, health care costs, and energy costs. It’s the most aggressive action on tackling the climate crisis in American history, which will lift up American workers and create good-paying, union jobs across the country. It’ll lower the deficit and ask the ultra-wealthy and corporations to pay their fair share. And no one making under $400,000 per year will pay a penny more in taxes."

No, Cal.....the economy, although never perfect, is growing and building to support working families. It's insulting to assume we don't understand how much better off we are under Democrat influence, Democrats whose commitment to all Americans - not just the wealthiest among us, democracy - not the GOP full-on embrace of authoritarianism, white supremacy/nationalism, and corporate dominance, and the future of our Constitutional Republican built on democratic ideals.
