These are strange times. Strange times indeed!
No one who I have talked to has ever experienced anything like this. The last great pandemic was 102 years ago, in 1918. It was a terrible scourge on the human race with 675,000 Americans alone dying from the dreaded “Spanish Flu.” It came at the end of World War I and spread throughout the troops on both sides of the conflict and on into all corners of the Earth. Estimates are that, worldwide, the number of those who died was between 50 million and 100 million.
