In September 2014, I wrote my first column to you. I wrote to you about learning how constant it is to let go, whether of growing children, our own ideas about how we thought the world worked, or the dreams we lay tenderly down as we get older and older, and the likelihood of realizing them grows smaller and smaller.

My littlest child doesn’t have to be left sobbing on the sidewalk anymore, and my oldest blew through middle school and will be a senior in high school next fall.

Seriously?!.....2014?! What a grand time you've had, giving a voice to grace, reason, compassion, and love in all your writing, but especially your final column. Kudos to you for valiantly holding the line, even while others attempted to break through. Thank you for your eloquence and relevance throughout all these years.

And a toast to you:

I wish you health, I wish you well, and happiness galore.

I wish you luck for you and friends; what could I wish you more?

May your joys be as deep as the oceans, your troubles as light as its foam.

And may you find, sweet peace of mind, where ever you may roam.

Cheers, Alicia Hager!!

Really Blacks are responsible for their own destiny just like Hispanics and Asians and before them Italians and Irish. No developed country has open borders ... and your simplistic approach of foreign policy is an insult to everyone. We are not all a village..this country...the greatest country in the world was built by rugged individualists. You have really regressed with you socialist group think
