It has been a long year, and a hard one, as Gov. Gretchen Whitmer acknowledged at the start of her third State of the State address, delivered last week to a state yet facing twin crises: the COVID-19 pandemic, and the damage the virus has wreaked on Michigan’s economy.

Throughout this year, unlike any we’ve ever seen, Whitmer has remained disciplined, focused and on message, despite organized protests of her COVID-19 emergency orders, a murder plot engineered by domestic terrorists and a recalcitrant Legislature.

Now that the election has been stolen and the most successful President in many decades has been deposed, it appears the Tribune has decided it’s no longer necessary to run a large daily banner scaring us with daily new cases and deaths from the Chinese Flu.

FYI, and as a public service, Michigan had 1,885 new cases yesterday and 81 new deaths – more new deaths than Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Wisconsin. Of course, her Highness still refuses to give us accurate information regarding deaths in senior facilities which she forced to accept Covid positive seniors.

In context, Whitmer’s policies resulted in Michigan losing more jobs (64,400) in 2020 than any other State, according to the government Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Stay the Course and see how many more seniors and jobs you can kill.

"Now that the election has been stolen and the most successful President in many decades has been deposed...." You must be referring to the 2016 election that was stolen from Hillary Clinton as the 2020 election was a decisive and clear free and fair election with absolutely no evidence of fraud - move on Vlad! Get a hobby and give up promoting the Big Lie! And the most successful president in many ways was Obama, who brought us out of, at the time, the worst recession since 1929 and turned the economy into a thriving engine of job creation and strong recovery.....which of course Trump inherited and trashed like most of his endeavors.

Where else would you put seniors who were too sick to stay at home - many without an option for in-home care in lieu of quarantining, but not sick enough to stay in a crowded, overtaxed hospital surging with alarmingly sick patients? If it was me, I would want to be placed in a nursing home that had separate protocols for Covid patients.

As for job losses, let's look on the bright side - "The latest unemployment figures show Michigan has already recovered about 500,000, or half its lost jobs, with the quickest recoveries coming in manufacturing and construction. Bars, restaurants, hospitality and travel-linked commerce continue to struggle and some market segments, such as local government employees and teaching, have yet to feel the coronavirus’ full economic crush."

Michigan has a huge economy that was crippled by federal ineptness and incompetence (the Trump White House) during the past year. No worries - after a year of little to no federal support for this once-in-a-century pandemic, President Biden and Democrats have met with governors and have formulated a common sense plan to help states with public health and economic recovery.

Your warped argument against Gov Whitmer doesn't hold water. You are fortunate we have a serious, intelligent, experienced, knowledgeable, strong, and compassionate person as our governor. Could you imagine how bad things would have been with a Do-Nothing Republican in charge??

Since you're still chaffed by President Donald John Trump beating Crooked Hillary before Democrats better learned how to steal elections, may I recommend Boudreaux's Butt Paste to soothe your rashes?

Unfortunately, even Boudreaux doesn't make a product that will help correct the damage that Progressivism and Democrats have wrought from the neck up. I'll keep looking for help for you but taking one of the free courses Michigan's own Hillsdale College offers on our Constitution and the Representative Republic it produced may reduce the swelling.

Lanivan

Although I suppose I should be grateful you seem concerned about specific parts of my anatomy, I suspect it is more that you are a confirmed long-time user of Boudreaux's Butt Paste and/or stock holder promoting a product that has done the trick for your 'rashes' for years.

I'm not so much chaffed about Trump rigging the election with Russia's help while Hillary received $3 Million more votes making her the popular vote winner, as how he inherited, from his predecessor, a healthy and thriving nation and left it a deathly sick, sputtering, bankrupted, divisive, and floundering one for his successor.

Haha! I'd love to take one of Hillsdale College courses, but I think you might suggest this to your demi-god, Trump, who rammed through four years of corruption without even the slightest interest in the Constitution or the Republic, save for how much it could do for him.

Whizzing on your leg and telling you it's raining - Lanivan Edition

""The latest unemployment figures show Michigan has already recovered about 500,000, or half its lost jobs, with the quickest recoveries coming in manufacturing and construction. Bars, restaurants, hospitality and travel-linked commerce continue to struggle and some market segments, such as local government employees and teaching, have yet to feel the coronavirus’ full economic crush." That is a quote from August, 2020, before Witless locked down Michigan businesses again.

Lanivan is the distaff Mark Smith, sharing the same blatant disregard for the truth - take it to the bank

Lanivan

Someday you will have to atone for your constant morphing and dissembling of data to conform to your whackadoodle agenda. First of all, Gov Whitmer did not 'lock down' any businesses in the fall. She placed restrictions on certain businesses that were most vulnerable to the spread of the virus, but never 'locked down' anybody.

Actually, indoor dining is now allowed with specific restrictions, although this is probably not the best decision, as restaurants are unique spreaders of the virus and there are now the inevitable variant viruses circulating throughout the country.

Please, spend more time actually telling the truth than trying to be warped - "whizzing on your leg"? Ewwww......provided I could even contort myself to get into that position, that's just gross.
