The Spring Lake boys lacrosse team will be hosting a charity event Thursday to honor the memory of the 30 dogs that were lost in the Muskegon Kennel Fire on March 30.

During the varsity and junior varsity boys lacrosse games against Grand Rapids Catholic Central on Thursday, as well as during the high school lunch periods, donations items or cash will be accepted at the front gates of the lacrosse field.

All proceeds will go to the Noah Project, a no-kill animal shelter based out of Muskegon that aims to give every animal in the area a home.

Items on the donation list include: gift cards for Tractor Supply, Menards, Meijer, Wal-Mart or Staples, non-clumping cat litter, paper towels, antibacterial liquid hand soap, copy paper and postage stamps, "4Health Lamb & Rice" dry dog food (available at Tractor Supply) and "4Health All Life Stage" canned cat food (available at Tractor Supply).
