Grand Haven and Grandville football could meet again next spring if the MHSAA decides to push back the season amid COVID-19 concerns.

Somewhere in the shuffle of Tuesday’s major school reopening plan by state governor Gretchen Whitmer, there was an interesting suggestion.

Instead of playing football in the fall, with games less than two months away and the COVID-19 pandemic reaching new highs for cases, why not move it to the spring?
