Grand Haven junior Nic Stump looks for a passing option in the second half of Tuesday's game against Grandville.

GRAND HAVEN TWP. — For all the acclaim Grand Haven's boys basketball  deserved in their start to 2021, the way they finished Tuesday night's home opener against Grandville should do plenty of motivating for the week ahead.

The Buccaneers held a lead in the final 30 seconds of regulation, but couldn't close the deal in a 69-67 overtime loss on Tuesday night. A layup from Grandville's Brayden Gable with 15 seconds left forced the extra session, where the Bulldogs grabbed an early lead and held it for the duration.
