Local athletes are competing in state championships this weekend, including individual wrestling finals at Ford Field in Detroit as well as bowling finals in Allen Park and Jackson. We'll have live updates to this story all day long, so check back for more information as the day continues:
8 p.m.: Spring Lake junior Jack parker advanced to the championship round at the 112-pound weight class in the Division 2 state meet with an 8-5 decision over Adrian Rosas. Parker, now 45-2 on the season, will wrestle against Jacob Brya of St. Johns on Saturday. Brya is a perfect 43-0 on the year.
