One item on the Aug. 4 primary ballot that will look unfamiliar to voters is the addition of a millage for the North Ottawa Recreation Authority.

This is the first time a millage for the organization will appear on ballots in Grand Haven Township, Ferrysburg and Robinson Township. The 0.25-mill (25 cents per $1,000 of a property’s taxable value) could change how NORA is funded while allowing for new opportunities.
