The last fall sport for area teams is scheduled to finish just before Christmas, with girls swim and dive finally getting an end to their season on Dec. 22 and 23.

That’s assuming the MHSAA sticks to guidelines it gave out in mid-November. Over the summer, any state guidance came about a week before a deadline, with schools ready to begin practicing on Dec. 9. The MHSAA’s executive council will meet on Friday to consider any other changes to the winter schedule.
