FRUITPORT — After five losses in a row, Fruitport’s girls finally got back into the win column on Tuesday night. The bigger surprise of the night may have come in the way they won above anything else.
The Trojans made big starts in both halves in a 45-11 blowout of Ravenna. Despite going scoreless in the fourth quarter, Fruitport had three players in double digits between 15 points from Kennah VerMerris and 11 points apiece from Sydney Bol and Ellie Fisher. Fisher’s injury midway through the fourth quarter was the only piece of bad news for the 6-7 Trojans.
