Buccaneer polo sinks Dreadnaughts; advances to semifinals

The Grand Haven Tribune is counting down its top five teams from the 2018-19 athletic seasons. The No. 5 team of the year is the Grand Haven boys water polo team, thanks to their fourth-place finish in the state tournament despite having just one All-State honored player. Their team-first attitude and overachieving season earned them a spot on the countdown.

The 2019 Grand Haven boys water polo team made their hay in the state tournament, peaking at the perfect time to nab an appearance in the semifinal match. While their season ended with two losses, their fourth-place finish reset the watermark for the program as their best performance to date.
