GRAND HAVEN TWP. — A man is in custody after police say he caused two crashes Wednesday morning, while a woman in his vehicle was in labor.
Rosemarie Reilly was killed Nov. 6, 2016, by Jeremy Kelley, whom she had taken out a personal protection order. Her family is now suing several Ottawa County and GVSU officers.
Last year, volunteers logged 3,690 hours of service in Ottawa County.
Candidates must be age 18 or older, live or work in Ottawa County, have no misdemeanor arrests within one year of application and have no felony arrests.
The training sessions are conducted by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
GRAND HAVEN TWP. — Police officers, firefighters, emergency services staff and victim advocates helped 102 Grand Haven Area Public Schools students with their Christmas shopping Wednesday during the annual Shop with a Sheriff event.

GRAND HAVEN TWP. — A 3-year-old Muskegon boy was run over by his father’s van twice while the family was trick-or-treating in a Grand Haven-area subdivision Wednesday night, police said.
In the most recent incident, the group walked into an open Sprint store in Holland Township and cut the security attachments from several phones and removed them from display racks. The suspects then fled on foot.
OLIVE TWP. — A Holland-area man was arrested Friday morning after stealing two vehicles and fleeing from police.
